Awesome walk up to the light house. On my way back I walked along the beach for a little while and it was amazing. The water was refreshing and just the perfect temperature!

The light house is a great scenic place to visit. The coffee shop is located near the lighthouse with a great view to relax. The only problem is lack of car park which makes it difficult to stay there if you drive. If you like walking or cycling those would be best options to reach there.

Cape Byron Lighthouse is a beautiful place to visit at sunset, however be aware that it's a popular spot and there is limited parking near the lighthouse and cafe at the top. I dropped my family at the lighthouse and drove down to park near The Pass Cafe on Brooke Drive and had about 1.5km to walk back to the lighthouse via the Cape Byron Walking Track. The walk had some steep parts and takes between 20 and 30 minutes depending on fitness level, so be sure to leave enough time. An added bonus is that you'll walk past the eastern most point of the mainland. There are some great views along this walk as you come around the headland.

Amazing place to be for a sunset. Beautiful 369 degree views from the light house. If you are planing to bring a drone, make sure you don't take-off, land or operate the drone in the light House area. However carpark down from the hill might be fair play.

I would classify the Byron Bay Lighthouse as a tourist destination, but it is worth it. It sits atop Cape Bryon which is the eastern most point of Australia. The actual most Eastern point is a nice short hike from the lighthouse. I recommend parking at the lower parking lot of your can because it is free. The park itself is free, it's just parking there that costs money. For the best time to visit I recommend sunrise it can be quite beautiful.
