During my three day trip in Byron Bay, I had lunch at this wonderful twice! It can be busy but you will soon know why. It's because the food is so darn delicious! The fresh rice paper rolls have really thin vermicelli which let's the tangy ginger sauce (yum!) run through the entire roll. I haven't had a sauce like that before. It's a game changer. Also bonus points for the pickled cabbage!! And let's talk about the bao. The bao is unreal!! It takes a little longer to come out if it's busy because they make it to order. The following day, I come by to try the soup. The only thing I regret is getting the cup size. I should have gone with the bowl portion. The soup is a chicken bone broth soup with deep complex flavours. I do detect a hint of ginseng but I can't figure out what else is there! I almost wanted to ask for the recipe but I probably won't be able to do it justice. The ambience matches the decor. All the staff are pretty groovy gals. I'm sad I left Byron but I'm looking forward to coming back - especially to dine here.

Arrived late on a Sunday night, quite setting, the Sao Bau were phenomenal, great flavour, filling and reasonably priced. It was a shame we only discovered this place on our final night in Byron Bay.

Lovely staff! great food! Highly recommended

We went here for some bao, and they were amazing. The flavours are brilliant, and the freshness is first class. They were 2 for $12, and my wife and I were full on one. They don't skimp on the fillings, which is the secret to a good bao. The staff were friendly, the place was spotless, and most of their menu can be eaten there, or take away. If you can, sit down and enjoy your bao at the restaurant. It's very welcoming.

Went here at 6:30 on a Saturday evening and it was packed with a queue so obviously a popular spot. Its byo for $2 with a bottle shop next door. Be prepared to wait when its busy as the kitchen isnt huge - I wouldnt call it fast food! But it is worth the wait. The pork buns were melt in your mouth and the ramen was huge whilst packing a punch. Would definitely recommend.
