Nice atmosphere and friendly bar staff, however, as per many of the other reviews, the bouncers are extremely unprofessional and aggressive. Rather than doing their job - to ensure the bar remains a safe and enjoyable place for patrons and staff, their main goal seems to be to pick fights, create violence, assert their dominance and feed their egos wherever possible. Indeed, the biggest threat to party-goers here (especially if you're male) are the bouncers themselves. I was kicked out for doing a chin up on one of the rafters inside (harsh, but fair enough) and spoke with the bouncer at the entrance in the hopes of getting some justification. I had made it clear that I'd accepted my fate and was going to leave, but just that I was unhappy with my treatment. While at no point was I even remotely aggressive, he proceeded to put me in a headlock. I allowed this to happen, assuming he was going to escort me away further off the premises and send me on my way. Instead, I was pulled out of range of the security cameras, choked out, picked up round the legs by a second security guard, and slammed head first into the bitumen. While I was clearly already subdued, the two then pinned me to the ground and began dropping knees into my spine and repeatedly into my head. I was knocked unconscious and left there. In summary, maybe you should consider hiring different bouncers. The only reason I didn't take legal action was because I'm not willing to invest my time or money to deal with low life scum who are going nowhere with their lives anyway. Peace and love!

They have something different on each night. Every Friday they have live music. Every Wednesday they give away a brand new surf board. Starts getting busy at 10:30 onwards. The staff are so nice. The club is full of good lookers. A variety of local aussies and backpackers as well. Its decked out with heaps of cool surf boards and vintage pictures. I always feel safe in here, the security guards are approachable and really friendly. Woodys is the best bar in Byron bay.

Great bar staff, banging music and the best happy hour in town. I was in here nearly every night of my life whilst living in Byron and never got bored!

Staff are awesome ! Every time Im in there it actually looks like the staff want to work and having great fun doing it. Music is pumping mostly house which I love. The management are always caring and the security say hi, bye and thank you every time Im in and leave the place. Also the espresso martinis the staff make especially from abbey on the bar are next level, decent price too!

We had a great time at Woodys! The staff were really friendly and the music was ace. Great for those who are single and ready to mingle. My only criticism is that its closed tonight (Sunday) and I go home tomorrow
