Very accommodating hostel, safe, and clean. Little bit of a younger crowd, and the attached bar and restaurant are affordable. Can't drink your own alcohol in most common areas was the only downfall, but happy hour is cheap and guests get a discount. They run events most nights and offer a small dinner for guests.
Me and my partner arrived and had to pay more because they messed up the booking. Meaning we had to go into a room with 2 single bed for the first night. There was too much noise from both rooms, music blasting and people chatting till past midnight.There was two huge cockroaches in our second room.The shared kitchen didn't have spoons and you had to pay 2dollars to hire a cup. The shared bathroom was spacious and the staff were lovely.
The hostel is just ok. The bar was good with happy hour and there is free dinner every night. There is a kitchen to cook your own food but no cups to use, if you want a mug you have to pay for it. The beds in the dorms are uncomfortable and no one takes the no drinking alcohol in your room seriously as well as being quiet after 10pm. Also sharing one bathroom with 10 people was inconvenient and there was no hand soap or towels for handwashing. And no a/c in the rooms!
My home away from home! Staff is wonderful and make sure your time in Byron will be the best time you'll ever had. There are great activities each night where you can meet your fellow backpackers. Don't forget to taste the food from the cafe, it's really delicious and good value for money!
Warm and relaxing vibe from the moment you enter the lobby, good considerations made for the guests - discounts on drinks, complementary dinner on Saturday and discount in the cafe next door. Good layout and facilities - plus the karaoke night and Shuttle bus to cheeky monkey Bar made for proper entertainment on the weekend! All in all a fantastic time had, highly recommend.
