Highly recommended doing a tour of the Lighthouse if you visit Byron Bay. Hard to get a carpark at the top. You do need cash for parking there. Alternatively I do recommend the scenic walk. If you park at one of the local beach spots at the bottom. There is a pathway. Take around 40 minutes with a few stops along the way. Once at the top. They do have a cafe there with reasonable price food. To book a tour of the Lighthouse you need to get a ticket. You can get this from the lighthouse. Gold coin donation. Tour is 20 minutes. So worth it. We walked down via the road. Its a lot quicker taking u a around 20 minutes. I highly recommend this trip.
Unbeatable views to drink your coffee to (which was pretty decent). Paying $8 for parking I felt was a bit rich especially when you are limited to only one hour. Friendly staff.
Very cool place to walk up although you do need to be aware of the cars driving past you if you park further away. The guide inside is very knowledgeable about all the lighthouse families. Plus great coffee shops!! You can even get to see some whales in the ocean.
The hike is beautiful and the cafe is a lovely spot to stop, relax and enjoy something to drink and eat! Our coffee and dessert were really good. I thought you could only pay cash, but they also have a machine now. The staff is young; so dont expect amazing service. Just chill and relax!
